IARU Championship 2025

The IARU Championship is one of my favorite contests. It’s one of the few in the summer, it’s relatively short, and it gives one the opportunity to work anyone anywhere as the exchange is the IARU zone that you are located in.

This year, my score was about half of last year’s - with about the same time spent operating.

The good news is that everything in the station worked for the duration. Last year, my amp took on an error and I had to stop using it. Plus shipping it to Virginia and waiting about three months to have it returned. So having everything working is a big deal.

It was still a satisfying contest, and that’s what counts.

Last year, my score was just over 580,000. This year, just over 208,000. Yeah, a big difference.
