200-WPM Morse Code Copying

OK, so I didn’t believe it, but it looks like it really happened.

Can I get to 40-WPM in a contest? Ahhh…no.

    I’m not sure whether to believe this (even on video). However, I was impressed to see 200 wpm “officially” cracked at the IARU High Speed Telegraphy World Championships. http://rufzxp.net/speed1000.htm

    If these guys are actually able to do this… it makes me wonder whether they could (with practice) copy RTTY as well.

    Meanwhile, my topscore in Rufz is 10383 and topspeed is 250 CPM (or 50 WPM). So, I’m only at 25% of that.

    I hope you believe by now. I know Fab DJ1YFK and actually he copied callsings at 1231 CPM, that is 246.2 WPM. I know him personally there is no trick behind that, just practice till you get to what they call “CW Nirvana”. I thought it was impossible but already copying some calls at 502 CMP here. Won’t stop trying :-)

    In my blog I’ve a video where Fab does a really good run at 100 wpm using JE3MAS. Take a look at it at http://www.5bits.net/lu5dx

    @Martin, LU5DX -
    Nuts, isn’t it? Good for him. I wish I could understand code a quarter as well as he does.
